A Baltimore-based bakery with a strong history and deep family roots is preparing to establish itself as a name to remember in the DC dining scene. Kneads Bakeshop & Cafe has signed on to bring its delicious treats to a Logan Circle storefront later this year.
Kneads will be occupying a 6,221 square foot space at 1460 P Street, N.W. The bakery’s new home will be spread across two stories, 3,510 square feet of which will be on the ground floor with the remaining 2,711 square feet located on a lower level.
Kneads intends to put the space to excellent use; a press release provided to What Now DC offers a sneak peak at what’s in store for District diners, describing the cafe as a: “full-service model, offering guests an extensive menu that includes all-day breakfast, lunch, fresh pastries, artisan breads, gourmet coffees and teas, as well as an array of signature cocktails. Patrons can enjoy a delightful dining experience in-house or opt for grab-and-go convenience, mirroring the successful approach of its popular Harbor East location. The Logan Circle café will also feature a large outdoor patio, perfect for alfresco dining.”
Kneads co-owner & broker Kira Paterakis explains that the brand has been scouting locations for its District arrival for quite some time, saying “Finding the right location in D.C. has been a long-awaited goal for us. When I came across this space, I felt an instant connection. The existing design, the charming building, the welcoming community, and the proximity to Whole Foods made it the perfect match for our brand.”
DC foodies can look forward to enjoying Kneads delectable artisan creations this summer, though a precise opening date is not yet available.
Readers who already feel their mouths watering at the prospect of Kneads’ cuisine have plenty to look forward to. The menu features a range of savory breakfast and lunch options alongside a selection of delicious, sweet favorites, including donuts, Danishes, and croissants.
Those who can’t wait until summer to savor Kneads’ cuisine will have a chance to sample the bakery’s cuisine this spring when it enters the DC wholesale market. “The bakeshop will begin supplying fresh artisan breads and pastries to local restaurants, hotels, and various establishments throughout the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area on a daily basis.”
