Lazy Dog Bringing Comfort Food and Warm Ambiance to Alexandria

The chain is taking over the space vacated by Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

Failing to fulfill the promise of its leisurely name, an expanding chain has its sights set on a new Virginia location. Lazy Dog Restaurant is bringing its lodge-themed vibes and cozy atmosphere to Alexandria, reports local media outlet FFXNow. 

The chain, which strives to emulate the feeling of a welcoming mountain lodge, has signed a lease for 5925 Kingstowne Towne Center. The space is no stranger to food service; it last housed Romano’s Macaroni Grill, which closed in January of this year.

Lazy Dog’s new 10,596 square foot home will provide both indoor and outdoor seating for hungry customers The restaurant will have space for up to 186 patrons inside, while a1,379 square foot patio will be able to accommodate 62 more visitors.

An opening date is not currently available, however chief development officer Steve Price assures future regulars that Lazy Dog plans to begin serving guests as quickly as possible, saying: “We’re collaborating with the city and are confident that with their support, we’ll finalize the remaining steps and share an official opening date soon. Our goal is to join this great community as soon as possible, and we can’t wait to meet our new neighbors.”

Alexandria diners can look forward to delicious comfort food served in a casual and cozy setting, inspired by the Rocky Mountains.
