The Falls, the new name for Liberty Barbecue, is a refined concept that will open in August with a new executive chef, a revamped menu, and a new layout.

The new restaurant will also be owned and managed by Steve Fedorchak, his brother Mark, and business partner Brian Normile, who all own The Liberty Restaurant Group. The team owns other restaurants and bars such as The Liberty Tavern, Lyon Hall, and Northside Social.

The Falls will occupy Liberty Barbecue’s location at 370 West Broad Street in Falls Church, but with a fresh concept that features a mid-Atlantic and Southern cuisine, according to Arlington Magazine.

“Over the past year, we decided that we want to expand and refine what we’ve offered at Liberty Barbecue. This includes a refreshed interior space and broader food and beverage offerings, with an emphasis on regionally sourced seasonal ingredients and fresh baked goods prepared with care,” the owners said on the Liberty Tavern website.

The space will be fully renovated and the menu is expected to offer items beyond traditional barbecue to offer more chicken and seafood dishes and diverse bar options. The menu will also include corn, heirloom tomatoes, crab cakes, and salads.

“We have people who love our wings, we have who people love our brisket, we have people who love our fried chicken, we have people who love the full-service brunch,” said Steve Fedorchak, according to the magazine. “We are going to preserve all of those elements of the restaurant while reserving the right to refine or improve them.”

The Falls will have booth seating and the bar will be separated from the dining areas. The old open kitchen will be closed off and guests will be allowed to reserve a private dining area that could take up to 36 people.
