After sitting vacant for nearly two years, a Ballston storefront is preparing to once again feed hungry locals. Live Alive Organic Cafe is preparing to make its Virginia debut in Arlington, reports local media outlet ARLNow.
The healthy concept is opening in the former home of Bruegger’s Bagels. According to permits filed with the county, the 818 North Quincy Street property will need to undergo relatively extensive renovations before Life Alive will be prepared to greet guests. Listed improvements include interior demolition, a fresh layout, and modernized utilities. Additionally, the building will feature a new mural.
An opening timeline is not presently available. What Now DC has reached out to Life Alive Cafe for further information, but has not yet heard back.
Life Alive first opened its doors in 2004, with the simple but admirable goal of offering delicious, nutritious meals in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The company’s website states its objective, saying: “Over the past twenty years, the more we’ve learned about people, food and mood, the more it’s clear that what we eat is central to living the way we want to live it—filled with energy, optimism and simply feeling good inside and out.”
The lion’s share of Life Alive Organic Cafes are currently in Massachusetts, however the concept does have one other DMV location, having recently opened a storefront in DC. The menu features an impressive variety of delicious and healthful choices, including warm grain bowls, salads, noodles, and soups.
