A Sterling Starbucks is making a small move for a big improvement. The store, currently located in the Cascades Marketplace shopping center, is relocating to an unused bank building, reports local media outlet The Burn.
Coffee fans needn’t worry about a disruption to their java supply. The Starbucks is making a move of only a few hundred feet, from 21021 Southbank Street to a former Capitol One bank building at 21000 Southbank Street. The new location will allow the coffee giant to add a drive-thru, a feature absent from its current home.
A relocation timeline is not currently available, however the move is part of the Cascades Marketplace’s planned rejuvenation, a project which includes the introduction of several popular restaurants to the shopping center. The planning board has submitted a rezoning application that is currently under community review.
Starbucks is undeniably the first name in coffee chains. Since it first began caffeinating customers in 1971 in Seattle, the chain spread to 84 countries, with more than 38,000 global locations. The brand has been making a major push towards including drive-thrus at all of its locations, making it easier than ever for fans to get their java and face their days.
