There’s exciting news on the horizon for Bethesda shoppers on the market for a new favorite fast-casual dining experience. Maman Joon Kitchen, a small but mighty chain that specializes in serving up Persian cuisine, is opening an outpost in the Westfield Montgomery Mall, reports local media outlet The MoCo Show.

The eatery will be occupying a second floor storefront in the 7101 Democracy Boulevard shopping center. Maman Joon is taking over the space that last housed Brio’s Chicken, near the parking deck entrance. An opening timeline is not presently available-the website for the Westfield Montgomery Mall currently has the restaurant listed as “coming soon”. What Now DC has reached out to ownership and will update readers as new information becomes available.

Maman Joon is helmed by the same team that founded popular DMV institution Z-Burger. Maman Joon currently has seven locations spread across the region; the Westfield Montgomery Mall location will bring the chain’s Maryland store count up to 2, as it joins another location in Olney.

Maman Joon will provide Bethesda shoppers and diners with a delicious and unique way to fuel up for a shopping spree. The website explains: “Here at Maman Joon, our philosophy is simple – food should be authentic, well-crafted, and delicious. We practice this in everything we create, from our homemade yogurts to our fresh-baked breads. As for the restaurant’s name, the word Maman means ‘mom’ and the word Joon means ‘soul, spirit of life.’ Used in a modern day to mean “dear”, as a gesture of close kinship and hospitality.”
