A great location can mean the world to a restaurant. A busy spot near a popular attraction is certain to bring lots of foot traffic, drawing more hungry stomachs than a concept might otherwise have the opportunity to feed. Mika’s Neapolitan Pizza is setting up its newest home in a plum DC area, across from the zoo, and it will be ready for visitors soon, reports local media outlet PoPville.

Signage is up in the pizzeria’s new 3000 Connecticut Ave, NW, D storefront. Exciting news for those who like to wash down their slices with an adult beverage; Mika’s has filed for a liquor license. The restaurant will offer both indoor and outdoor seating-according to the paperwork submitted to the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration, Mika’s will be able to seat up to 128 guests inside and an additional 40 will be able to dine outdoors.

A precise opening date is not yet on the books for Mika’s new home. However locals won’t have to wait too much longer to grab a slice after visiting the pandas at the zoo; the pizzeria will be opening in the next few weeks.

The DC space will be Mika’s second location. The pizzeria’s original home is in Sterling, Virginia, where it has earned a devoted following through its authentic fare and welcoming environment. The company’s website describes what makes it such a unique and wonderful dining experience, saying: “The menu reflects traditional Italian culinary values—simplicity, freshness, and balance. Each dish is crafted to highlight time-honored techniques, offering a taste of Italy through carefully prepared pizzas and pastas. The result is a dining experience grounded in heritage and flavor.”
