Pizza is a nearly universal language, beloved across nations and demographics. While the market for the Italian favorite may already seem jam-packed, fans always have room in their hearts and stomachs for a newcomer. Mountain Mike’s, no stranger to the dining scene, is preparing to make its Virginia debut, led by experienced franchisee Niraj Hemrajani, reports QSR.
The news is nearly as fresh as Mountain Mike’s pies, and many of the salient details remain undisclosed. While precise addresses are not yet available for the chain’s 3 DMV-area storefronts, the pizzeria has its sights set on Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
Hemrajani’s Northern Virginia shops will mark a significant eastern move for Mountain Mike’s. CEO Jim Metevier states: “After years of brand growth throughout the West, Virginia is another exciting leap forward for Mountain Mike’s Pizza as we expand along the East Coast and introduce our legendary crispy, curly pepperonis and community commitment to our twelfth state nationally…we’re confident Virginia will welcome and enjoy our signature restaurant experience for decades to come.”
While the chain will be feeding a whole new audience with its NoVa locations, Mountain Mike’s has been flipping pies for quite some time. The concept served its first slice in Palo Alto, California in 1978, and has expanded to include 300 locations, each grounded by commitment to superior pizza and creating a welcoming, family friendly dining experience.
