Grandmothers’ kitchens have had a profound impact on hospitality. Whether it’s food, ambiance, or a welcoming atmosphere, many diners think fondly of these nostalgic spaces. Thompson Hospitality, a popular DC-area restaurant group, is hoping to recreate that sense of comfort and great eats with its latest concept, Ms. Peach’s Southern Kitchen. The restaurant will be bringing Sunday dinner vibes to Sterling in late August, reports the Washington Business Journal.

Ms. Peach’s Southern Kitchen is an homage to Hattie Thompson, the late grandmother of Thompson Hospitality’s founder Warren Thompson. The loving tribute will be setting up shop at 20789 Great Falls Plaza in the 2,000 square foot storefront that currently houses Locals Tacos and Tequila (also owned and operated by Thompson). The restaurant is set to begin greeting guests on August 25.

Thompson states that Ms. Peach’s Southern Kitchen will be using several recipes culled directly from his grandmother’s kitchen. Guests can look forward to savoring southern favorites like chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits in a bright and colorful environment.
