A Virginia couple is bringing fresh, healthy cuisine to Loudoun County just in time for the spring thaw. Sean and Andrea Sowards will be opening a Sterling location of Nautical Bowls, a growing national chain, this March, reports local media outlet The Burn.

Loudoun County residents will be able to sample the eatery’s fare at the Dulles 28 Centre shopping plaza, located at 22000 Dulles Retail Plaza.

Franchisee Sean Sowards spoke with What Now DC about introducing Nautical Bowls to Sterling. He explains that the company provided him and Andrea with a chance to offer healthier options to the local community. “We investigated several different franchise opportunities, but Nautical Bowls was the perfect fit for us.” he states. “We value our health and fitness above all, and strive to eat a healthy diet, so bringing healthy, nutritious superfood bowls to a new area really appealed to us.”

The chain allows the Sowards to create a warm and welcoming environment for Sterling customers. “Nautical Bowls is a family first company that prioritizes serving the community and giving guests a fun, friendly experience every time they walk in the door.” states Sowards. “I’ve always been disappointed by other fast casual restaurants where I’ve been made to feel like a nuisance or just another check. I’m excited to bring service back to the fast casual healthy dining experience.”

Local foodies eager to become Nautical Bowls regulars but unsure where to begin with its distinctive dishes shouldn’t feel overwhelmed. Sowards explains that the shop will provide plenty of variety. “Our bowls are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. We layer our vibrant super food bases like acai, cacao, mango, coconut and pitaya, then top them with fresh healthy toppings like fresh-ground nut butters, fresh fruit, and many other healthy options.  Our bowls are never blended with juice or water, and are Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, and Plant-Based.  And they taste even better than they look.”

The Sowards are aiming to open the Sterling Nautical Bowls in mid-to-late March. Sean says the duo intend to open at least two more storefronts in the area.

Opening just in time to greet the warmer weather, Nautical Bowls is certain to become a Loudoun County favorite. Sowards explains: “From the moment guests walk in the door they’ll know we’re a different kind of shop. They’ll be greeted with a friendly smile and a fun, beach-themed atmosphere with family friendly music filling the space.”
