A tried-and-true hospitality group is bringing a brand new concept to the DMV next year. The Cava Mezze group is opening an as-of-yet unnamed Italian restaurant in Potomac Place, reports The Patch.
The eatery, which will add Mediterranean flair to its cuisine, is taking over the space at 10120 River Road that last housed Renato’s at River Falls. A precise opening date is not currently available for the Cava group’s latest endeavor, however the restaurant aims to begin feeding guests sometime in 2025.
While the concept does not yet have a name, certain details and particulars are available. Cava co-founder and chief concept officer Ted Xenochristos offers these enticing tidbits, saying “Mediterranean touch to their dishes, using the freshest ingredients and drawing from the Italian coastline, where mountains meet the sea. Led by Chef Aris Tsekouras, who also oversees Julii, Melina, and Bouboulina, the menu will feature fresh crudo, classic Italian meatballs, fried mushroom polenta, handmade pastas, burrata, and the ever-popular chicken parmesan.”
