Del Ray foodies, get ready to savor the tastes of Japan without ever needing to leave your backyard. A brand new concept from a pair of hospitality veterans called Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar is opening soon in the neighborhood, reports local media outlet ALXNow.

The restaurant will be taking over the space at 1909 Mount Vernon Avenue that had housed Zuki Moon until its closure in January of this year. An opening timeline is not currently available, however Pak Soii Izakaya is actively seeking applicants for an array of positions, including sushi chef, sushi helper, line cook, dishwasher, and servers.

While an abundance of information is not yet known, Alexandria residents can rest assured that they are in good and capable hands. Pak Soii Izakaya is the brainchild of Supattra Pummora and Nat Chainam, who also launched Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas and Tsunami.

The concept’s social media provides a bit of insight into both the restaurant’s name and its fare, stating: “Inspired by the simple joy of “Pak Soii” — where great food, laughter, and a warm atmosphere are always waiting. At Pak Soii, Asian street flavors meet Japanese soul. Welcome to your new favorite Izakaya & Bar.”
