A DMV area entrepreneur is bringing a taste of the City of Light to Arlington this year. Sean Kim has big plans to open a new Paris Baguette location in the Clarendon neighborhood late this summer.

Kim has already established himself as a formidable presence in the local fast-casual cafe scene. The restaurateur gave What Now DC the scoop on his newest location, set to open at 3101 Wilson Boulevard.

“I believe that they’re a very unique brand that carries unique items” he states, explaining that the allure of Paris Baguette carries into its ability to recreate delicious, high-quality recipes, without years of additional training. “We can produce such a good product without being a pastry chef for a long time but we get the good quality, without their length of experience. We don’t have to go to school to learn those things, they teach us to make a good quality product.”

Kim explains that Clarendon provided a desirable population density, income, and ratio of activity to residential activity.

Arlington residents won’t have to wait too much longer to sink their teeth into some of Paris Baguette’s delicious treats; Kim states that he is hoping to open the Clarendon location in late August or early September.

Founded in Seoul, Korea in 1988, Paris Baguette has quickly established itself as a name to watch on the fast-casual bakery scene. The chain has expanded to include more than 4,000 global locations.
