The DMV has always been on the cutting edge of the culinary industry and Arlington diners are about to reap the benefits of this innovation. The neighborhood will be getting a taste of Pattana Restaurant Group’s new project, a dual concept featuring Tiki Thai and Bird’s Eye Thai.
The restaurants will be opening at 244 19th Ct S, Suites #10 & 15. Tiki Thai, an eatery that fuses the charms of Polynesian and Thai culture and cuisine, will occupy 4,300 square feet, while Bird’s Eye Thai, with an emphasis on quick service, will have between 350 and 400 square feet. The two will share a back kitchen and a restroom.
Tiki Thai has inspired incredible acclaim in foodie circles thanks to its unique menu and tropical atmosphere. While Polynesian and Thai cultures may not immediately seem like they go together, owner and chef Porntipa Pattanamekar previously explained to ARLNow that she believes they complement each other, saying: “The priority is to create a genuine Thai dining experience. The tiki theme will enhance, not overshadow, the beauty and richness of Thai culture.”
While Tiki Thai invites customers to stay awhile as they enjoy their meals, Bird’s Eye Thai provides a delicious alternative for patrons in a hurry. The fast-casual concept offers plenty of customization options, allowing diners to curate their ideal meal from bases of pad Thai, curry rice, fried rice, and noodles. Future regulars need not worry that Bird’s Eye Thai sacrifices quality and care for speed; the website explains: “Our mission is to deliver the highest quality dishes crafted with care and precision, making every bite a celebration of Thailand’s rich culinary heritage.”
