A scrappy Italian restaurant with a long DC history is mounting a District comeback. Pines of Florence has big plans for Nagomi Izakaya’s old M Street home, reports local media outlet PoPville.
In addition to posting signage at 1990 M Street NW, suite 100, the eatery has applied for a new liquor license at the location. The application states that the building will accommodate up to 49 customers.
The liquor license protest hearing will be held on March 27, 2024, however no opening timeline is currently available for Pines of Florence’s latest home. However once the restaurant debuts, it will serve customers Sundays through Thursdays, between 11 am and 2 am, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 3 am.
Pines of Florence spent several years serving Southern Italian cuisine to its devoted clientele at 2100 Connecticut Avenue. While the restaurant currently has one location open and operational in Arlington, the M Street brick and mortar will allow long-time DC fans to enjoy the brand’s signature, reasonably priced dishes more easily.
In addition to the obligatory pizzas, the Pines of Florence menu features every option an Italian enthusiast could hope for, including subs, appetizers, homemade pastas, chicken, seafood, and veal dishes.
