The DC coffee scene is getting a fresh sip, courtesy of a Virginia favorite. Arlington-based cafe Idido’s Coffee and Social House is converting the Langdon space that previously housed a popular pub into a new storefront, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The java concept has purchased the property at 1601 Rhode Island Avenue NE that was most recently occupied by The Public Option. An opening timeline is not currently available, however the sale is very fresh; Idido’s finalized the purchase on October 22. The building will require renovation, so it is unlikely that DC coffee enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a hot cup of the cafe’s joe before 2025.
Idido’s is establishing a small but powerful presence in the District. The concept, which serves light sandwiches and healthy treats alongside La Colombe coffee drinks, is also opening a location in DC’s Petworth neighborhood later this year.
Idido’s aims to create a welcoming location where visitors can comfortably enjoy their repasts; it states its vision for its new Langdon home as a “vibrant coffee shop and social gathering space.”
