A local entrepreneur is preparing to bring a burst of French flair to Falls Church. Sean Kim is opening a new Paris Baguette location in the neighborhood later this year.

The cafe will be opening at 169 Hillwood Avenue. Kim explains to What Now DC that he signed the lease for the storefront in January but that the space won’t be available for buildout until May. As such, he anticipates a late November, early December opening for the Falls Church Paris Baguette.

Kim explains that he was drawn to the way that Paris Baguette facilitates crafting a superior product without needing to spend years in training. He states: ”We can produce such a good product without being a pastry chef for a long time but we get the good quality, without their length of experience. We don’t have to go to school to learn those things, they teach us to make a good quality product.”

Kim is currently developing another location in Clarendon and has several more in the works, including a prospective storefront in Annendale.

Founded in 1988, Paris Baguette started life in South Korea before making its way to American shores. The chain has expanded to include more than 4,000 locations globally, fueled by delicious pastries, savory treats, and a range of delectable beverages.
