After a year of anticipation and delays, Alexandria pizza fans’ patience will soon be rewarded with some of the DMV region’s best slices. Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza will soon resume construction on its Old Town North location, reports local media outlet ALX Now.

Construction intended to turn the out-of-use dry cleaner at 700 Slater Lane into a pizzeria temporarily halted but is set to restart in the next several weeks. Natasha Neely, Pupatella’s director of brand marketing and growth, confirms that the brand is hoping to open the location before the end of 2024.

Pupatella is a well-established DMV region favorite. Named one of the “50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains”, the concept currently has 10 locations across DC and Virginia, with its first Maryland store set to open later this year.

Future visitors can look forward to enjoying an authentic Neapolitan pie. Pupatella has been awarded the Verace Pizza Association certification, “which defines true Neapolitan pizza from the Assozione Verace Pizza Napoletana.”
