Norfolk is getting a second helping of some of the most popular chicken currently on the market. Raising Cane’s has been approved to join the local dining scene, reports local media outlet WAVY.com.

The restaurant, moving into 1500 Monticello Avenue, will be in good company; the area includes several fast-casual eateries, including Chick-fil-A, KFC, and Doumar’s. Norfolk foodies will still have to wait awhile before sampling Cane’s fare; construction is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2025.

Raising Cane’s has one other Norfolk location in the Naval Station Building, and several others spread across the DMV region. The enormously popular concept, founded in Louisiana in 1996, has over 700 storefronts in the United States.

Raising Cane’s offers a simple but delicious menu. The chain allows customers to choose between a chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. Guests can select sides including coleslaw, crinkle cut fries, and Texas Toast.
