Maryland residents mourning the loss of Sushi Damo will soon be able to sate their hunger for their favorite food. Popular DMV-area restaurant Kusshi Sushi is opening in the Rockville Town Square this spring, reports local media outlet The Moco Show.

The building, located at 36G Maryland Avenue, is currently undergoing renovations. Because the space housed a sushi establishment for 15 years prior to Kusshi’s arrival, the restaurant won’t require extensive construction.

Kusshi Sushi owner Wesley Yao confirmed with What Now DC that Kusshi’s Rockville location is on track to open this April.

Kusshi Sushi currently has five locations across Maryland and Virginia. Yao and his team will also be opening a Kusshi in Reston this November.

In addition to serving delicious, fresh sushi, the brand provides considerable outreach to the local communities it serves. Yao explains that Kusshi feeds area schools as well as police and fire departments. “We’re just looking to serve some sushi boats.” he states, adding “We’re looking to bring fresh fish, we want to serve good food to the community.”
