After a busy 2024, a beloved DMV bakery is making preparations for an auspicious 2025. Roggenart European Bakery, Bistro & Cafe have plans to open another five locations next year, reports the Baltimore Business Journal.

The concept is scouting areas across the DMV but has not landed on any specific locations yet. Roggenart co-owner Brody Tennant confirms that the bakery is eyeing real estate in Northern Virginia and Baltimore County.

In addition to these upcoming five stores, Roggenart is hoping to begin franchising in 2025. The bakery’s team is working hard to establish the steps necessary to ensure franchisees are successful in opening their own cafes.

Roggenart, which strives to create a homey, relaxed, and welcoming environment with a large assist from scratch-made treats, has come a long way since launching in 2017. The concept is scrappy and self-funded by people who truly care about crafting great products and ambiance. Tennant states “We are betting on ourselves. We are buying in 100% to grow this and become a hopefully one-day national concept.”
