An Arlington favorite is preparing to bring its Southern-style comfort cuisine to a fresh batch of hungry Virginians. Partners Todd Salvadore and chef Matt Hill are opening a second location of their popular concept, Ruthie’s All Day, next year in Fairfax, reports local media outlet FFXNow.

The restaurant will be joining the community of the Fairfax Corner shopping center when it opens at 11951 Grand Commons Avenue in 2025. The storefront will allow Ruthie’s space to host 210 patrons. Guests hoping to enjoy the scenery will be able to enjoy their meals on an outdoor patio; the interior will feature a full bar, a smoker, and a wood-burning hearth.

Chef Hill expresses enthusiasm about bringing Ruthie’s signature Southern cuisine and warm atmosphere to a new neighborhood, one he has a personal connection with. He states “Our community has been so supportive of Ruthie’s All-Day since we opened in Arlington, and we are very excited to bring that same warm hospitality throughout Fairfax, my wife’s hometown. We can’t wait to welcome even more people to share in the great food, friendly service, and relaxed vibe that make Ruthie’s so special.”

An exact opening date is not yet available, however Fairfax diners can look forward to enjoying the eatery’s fare in fall of 2025.

Launched in 2020, Ruthie’s has earned acclaim for its community atmosphere, authentic cuisine, and expansive drink program. The website describes the company’s ethos, stating: “We are an unpretentious chef-driven restaurant with an emphasis on using locally-sourced seasonal ingredients. We welcome everyone and anyone to dine with us, with one exception… you have to be RAD.”
