A local favorite is bringing the DMV a second helping of Southern comfort. Ruthie’s All Day, which has already won over Arlington diners, is bringing every meal that foodies could hope for to Fairfax Corner later this year, reports local media outlet FFXNow.

The 11951 Grand Commons Avenue storefront has been in the works for over a year; Ruthie’s first announced its plans for a second location in October of 2024. However, the patience locals have exercised will soon be rewarded. Ruthie’s is aiming to open its new Fairfax Corner location this March.

Ruthie’s, which describes itself as “a special neighborhood place that makes bellies happy all-day, every day…a family-friendly, all-day restaurant and bar” focuses on Southern style fare that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The menu features subsections including breakfast, weekend brunch, weekend mid-day, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant has its guests with dietary restrictions covered as well; the concept offers gluten-free options.

Ruthie’s All Day opened its first location in Arlington Heights in 2020, and its second home promises to be just as welcoming. Co-owner and chef Matt Hill previously expressed enthusiasm about the Fairfax location, saying: “Our community has been so supportive of Ruthie’s All-Day since we opened in Arlington, and we are very excited to bring that same warm hospitality throughout Fairfax, my wife’s hometown.”
