Proving just how much energy quality food and drink can provide, one the DMV’s favorite healthy fast-casual chains has yet another location in the works. South Block will continue fueling Virginia visitors with its delicious smoothies and bowls with a brand new Fairfax County location, reports local media outlet FFXNow.

The popular eatery will be taking over a 1,500 square foot portion of the space at 7511 Leesburg Pike left behind when Whole Foods closed. Signage is up on the storefront’s outside, however locals eager to get their hands on South Block’s fare  will need to exercise a little patience; CEO Amir Mostafavi is projecting a summer of 2026 opening.

Fairfax County diners are certain to find the wait well worthwhile. South Block has developed a strong reputation across the DMV thanks to its menu of nutritious and flavorful options and its enthusiasm for every neighborhood it enters.

Mostafavi is looking forward to providing a storefront closer to home for South Block’s Fairfax fans, and in a community he feels a personal connection to. He tells What Now DC: “We are excited to open in Idylwood in West Falls Church! This is a center I have had my eye on for some time now.  I grew up nearby in McLean, my dad had a family video store, Box Office Video in Falls Church and in McLean. So we would frequent this area quite a bit! We hope to be open before the summer of 2026.”
