One of the DMV-region’s top chains is preparing to bring its sweet treats to weary travelers hoping for a quick, healthy way to curb their hunger. South Block is opening a new location in the Dulles Airport later this year, reports local media outlet The Burn.

Celebrated for its smoothie and acai bowls, the concept will be serving customers out of a 650 square foot space in Terminal D, at 44825 Delta Road. South Block’s founder and CEO Amir Mostafavi confirmed to What Now DC that the airport location will be beginning construction this summer.

South Block has already had a busy and productive 2024. The chain, which currently has 15 locations, is actively developing four new storefronts. First up are shops in Chantilly, Virginia and 21 and M Street in DC, set to open this summer. South Block will begin construction on a new storefront in Springfield, as well as the Dulles location at the same time.
