An expanding national chain known for putting a healthy twist on fast-casual cuisine is testing the waters for a new McLean location. Salad-forward concept Sweetgreen is circling a former Chesterbrook bank building, reports local media outlet FFXNow.

The property which has captured Sweetgreen’s interest is located at 6224 Old Dominion Drive. The former Truist Bank building has drawn the eatery’s attention owing at least in part to its drive-thru lane, which Sweetgreen believes would be a boon to its customers on the go.

Local foodies shouldn’t get their hopes too high just yet; while Sweetgreen’s application for Zoning Ordinance Interpretation is currently under review by Fairfax County’s Zoning Office, it is unclear whether or not the chain has signed a lease for the location.

Whatever the fate of the Chesterbrook Shopping Center building, construction is underway, turning it from a bank into whatever incarnation comes next. Sweetgreen’s application to Fairfax County describes its intentions and gives future regulars a glimpse of what they may be able to anticipate saying: “Sweetgreen is proposing to remodel the former stand-alone bank building at 6224 Old Dominion Drive into a fast casual salad-based restaurant as part of the redevelopment of the Chesterbrook Shopping Center. Part of the restaurant proposal is to use the existing drive-thru as a pick-up only lane, removing the need for in line ordering and payment in the pick-up lane, thereby speeding up the process and wait times.”
