Celebrated pastry chef Tzurit Or is helping make Alexandria a little sweeter in 2024. Tatte Bakery & Cafe is opening a new location in Old Town early next year, reports local media outlet ALXNow.

The shop, located at 515 King Street, has recently announced an opening date for its newest home. Tatte Bakery will begin serving delicious pastries, sandwiches, and plates on January 24, 2024. The opening comes a little more than a year after the location was announced. Tatte filed the permits for the Old Town space in January of 2023.

Tatte, which has already won over fans with stores in Massachusetts and the Metro DC area, will feed hungry visitors seven days of the week, from 7 am to 8 pm. The eatery anticipates serving around 400 customers daily.

Tatte’s founder, Tzurit Or, began her career as a home baker. She founded Tatte Bakery & Cafe in 2007. The eatery has expanded to include 35 restaurants. The menu offers options for every taste, from those seeking classic comfort foods like the biscuit and egg sandwich, to those preferring a more sophisticated dish, like the prosciutto, squash, and pomegranate tartine.
