Gaithersburg foodies, get ready to take a bite out of one of the East Coast’s favorite-and fastest growing-bakery chains. Tatte Bakery & Cafe got its start in Boston, but its delicious flavors and eclectic menu has made it a hit far beyond Bean Town. Now the concept has its sights set on the Kentlands neighborhood, with a storefront planned for an old restaurant space, reports local media outlet MoCo Show.

Tatte will be one of two businesses breathing new life into the space at 112 Kentlands Boulevard occupied by Buca Di Beppo until its closure in June of 2024. The bakery will have around 3,777 square feet of space in which to serve its customers. Tatte will be splitting the storefront with a somewhat unlikely neighbor; Mattress Warehouse will be the building’s other resident.

It is not presently clear when precisely Tatte will be firing up its Gaithersburg ovens; What Now DC has reached out to ownership for further details and will update readers as more information becomes available.

The Kentlands storefront will mark Tatte’s fourth Montgomery County location. Founded by visionary pastry chef Tzurit Or in 2007,Tatte has become a beloved staple in the culinary world. The menu, described as “Delicious, comforting food and drink from our scratch kitchens and coffee bars”, features a wide range of both sweet and savory options. Alongside delicious sandwiches, salads, and soups, Tatte offers delectable shakshuka.
