A Maryland-based restaurant is preparing to heat up DC this summer. The Jerk Pit is bringing delectable Jamaican dishes to Adams Morgan, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The concept is setting up kitchen in 2436 18th Street, NW, a space that formerly housed Baja Tap. Jerk Pit owner Lisa Waddell Nash confirmed to What Now DC that she is hoping to begin greeting and feeding customers in early July. She states: “ We don’t have a date yet as we are still waiting on completing all our inspections and getting all permits in place.”

Future regulars can look forward to enjoying authentic Jamaican cuisine once the Jerk Pit opens. The restaurant prioritizes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect to compliment delectable dishes ranging from curry chicken to jerk shrimp.

Waddell Nash is enthusiastic about bringing the concept to the District, saying “ We are eagerly looking forward to opening in Adams Morgan, DC.”
