The team behind American-inspired restaurant Mintwood Place, which closed last August, plans to open a new restaurant in the same space in Adams Morgan.
“The former Mintwood Place space at 1813 Columbia Rd NW is being renovated to open as a new restaurant by the same owner in the next few months,” tweeted Eat DC this week, an online account that posts restaurant news and food reviews.
Mintwood Place was owned by restaurateurs Cedric Maupillier and Saied Azali, who also both own Convivial at 801 O St. NW.
No details were revealed about the name or concept of the new restaurant, but What Now DC will provide an update as soon as new information becomes available.
Mintwood Place closed after operating for 10 years. The owners said in August 2022 when they closed the restaurant that they plan to create something “truly befitting the neighborhood.”
“It is with a heavy heart that we bring to you the news of the closure of Mintwood Place. Your faithful patronage has kept us going through the pandemic and more, and we could not be more grateful. We are so proud to be a part of such a welcoming neighborhood like Adams Morgan,” the owners said on Facebook at the time when they announced the restaurant closure.
