A piping-hot pizza chain is flipping into a new Maryland location later this year. Timber Pizza Co., a brand that’s been delighting the DMV since 2014, is opening a fresh storefront in Edgewater this summer, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The pizzeria will be setting up its ovens at 3279 Solomons Island Road. Construction is underway on the 2,100 square foot restaurant. Timber’s new location will be helmed by Chris Brady, Aaron Tompkins, and Travis Katski. Brady, who is also the company’s co-founder, explains that Edgewater is a perfect spot for the brand to set up shop, saying “We just knew it was a great natural fit for our second location in the county.”

Brady launched Timber with Andrew Dana and Daniela Moreira in 2014. The chain has grown to include 6 locations, primarily across the DMV-the Edgewater storefront will be the pizzeria’s second Maryland home. In addition to 3 Virginia spots, a DC storefront, and the soon-to-be 2 Maryland restaurants, Timber has an outlier pizzeria in North Carolina.

With an emphasis on woodfired pizza and bonhomie, Timber cultivates a positive and memorable atmosphere everywhere it lays down roots. The website offers this peak at what makes the concept so successful: “We have a good time serving up the best pizzas around, and we want anyone who walks in our doors to have a good time with us.”
