The DMV area is about to get its first taste of a burgeoning taco brand. Torchy’s Tacos is preparing to enter the regional dining scene, reports local media outlet TasteDMV.

The restaurant will be opening at 12266 Rockville Pike, in the space that formerly housed Ruby Tuesday. While a precise opening date is not currently available, Torchy’s is on track for an autumn opening for its Federal Plaza home.

Interior construction is ongoing at the new location, and exterior signage has been hung.

Torchy’s has experienced considerable growth since its humble beginnings as a food truck. The chain, which uses ethically sourced ingredients, has grown to include 115 storefronts across 14 states.

Maryland can look forward to welcoming a socially conscious restaurant that makes delicious, fresh, made-to-order tacos. Torchy’s website sums up its mission, stating: “In living by our Damn Good mantra, we’re constantly innovating to ensure we’re delivering the tastiest tacos, queso, and margaritas in the game. Our Taco of the Month promotions allow us to provide unique tacos to all our Taco Junkies year ’round. We also pride ourselves by hiring Damn Good people who develop one-of-a-kind partnerships in each community we serve.”
