Union Market foodies, prepare to be the envy of pizza lovers everywhere. Slice & Pie, one of the top pizzerias in the nation, is opening a new storefront in the neighborhood later this summer, reports Eater Washington D.C.

The concept will be bringing its award winning pies to 1309 5th Street NE. Helmed by award-winning pizzaiolo Giulio Adriani, Slice & Pie is aiming to open its doors to the hungry masses in the second week of July.

Slice & Pie debuted in DC in 2022. Respecting the long-standing practice of not fixing that which is not broke, Adriani will be keeping the menu the same at the Union Market location as it is at its current 14th Street location.

The eatery will feature an open kitchen design, allowing visitors to witness the evolution of their pizzas from stomach growls to hot and finished pies.

For the uninitiated, Slice & Pie’s offerings include garlic knots, meatballs, fries, an array of sandwiches, and, of course, an impressive selection of pizzas. The pizzeria’s meticulously crafted pies have earned the restaurant the Number 2 Spot on the list of the 50 Top Pizza Slices in the US.
