A long empty Logan Circle storefront will soon be welcoming a sweet new tenant. Van Leeuwen, a popular ice cream brand, is preparing to scoop for the neighborhood, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The ice cream juggernauts are moving into Lalibela Ethiopian’s old home at 1415 14th Street NW. An opening date is not currently available, however signage has been placed and construction appears to be underway, suggesting Logan Circle residents will be able to enjoy the sweet treats by the time the weather changes.

Founded in New York in 2008, Van Leeuwen garnered a large fan-following by crafting delicious, natural ice cream, using the finest ingredients. Since its humble beginnings as a food truck, the brand has expanded to include more than 30 stores across the United States.

Guests can choose from a wide range of frozen treats. In addition to scoops of beloved favorites like cookies and cream and mint chip, visitors can enjoy ice cream sandwiches and ice cream bars. The shop offers vegan options for the dairy averse and can claim the title of the best vanilla ice cream, as rated by NYT Wirecutter.
