A new sandwich shop and cocktail bar called Your Only Friend will open in late fall 2023 in the Mount Vernon Square area in DC.
The eatery is the latest concept by restaurateurs Sherra Kurtz and Paul Taylor, who decided to launch a spin-off of the pandemic sandwich pop-up. Both Kurtz and Taylor used to work at the cocktail bar and lounge Columbia Room.
Customers can expect Italian subs stuffed with mortadella-and-mozzarella cheese, burgers, and beverages like celery gimlet.
Kurtz told What Now DC that she and co-owner Taylor are anticipating an early December opening date. The restaurant will have approximately 40 total seats.
“[We’ll have] lots of light from the front windows of our historic storefronts, which we fell in love with at first sight!” Kurtz told What Now DC.
