La Palma, a new tequila bar, will soon be opening in the Multnomah area at 7771 SW Capitol Highway, confirmed by one of its owners and operating manager, Alex Chong.

“Our goal is to be open by the end of this August, but definitely within this summer. We’re currently just waiting on licensing and the wait initially came from wanting to make sure our concept was top-notch,” Chong told What Now Portland, “We’re very excited to bring La Palma to Portland.”

A visit to La Palma wouldn’t be complete without exploring the carefully curated tequila bar, hosting an extensive selection of tequilas and tequila-based cocktails. La Palma centers its establishment on tasty and interesting food palates, but keeps it simple, with an affectionately chosen description of “fresh-mex” options.

The menu at La Palma promises to delight the taste buds with a focus on simplicity, tastiness, and innovation. The culinary offerings center around shareable plates that encourage a communal dining experience, allowing guests to savor a wide array of flavors. One example of the menu options will be ceviche samplings, or their fresh guacamole, offering a delightful sampling of fresh and zesty ceviche variations.

While the ultimate goal is to create an outdoor-friendly space that can be enjoyed year-round, this aspect may be introduced at a later stage. However, the team at La Palma is committed to ensuring that the overall ambiance of the establishment reflects a summery and vibrant atmosphere, one that patrons can describe as being more light-hearted, with La Palma being surrounded by palm trees, agaves, and other carefully-selected landscaping to accent the white with black trim paint.
