The originator of the “flavored crust pizza”, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, just opened two new restaurants in the Denver area. One restaurant is located in Aurora on 50-84 East Mississippi Avenue near the Esprit Cherry Creek Apartments. The second restaurant is located in Thornton on 10382 Washington St #3, right off E 104th Ave.
The Aurora location is operated by husband and wife duo Mike Maloney and Michelle Arnold. Before opening a Hungry Howie’s franchise, Maloney was working as a production manager at a home improvement franchise. He decided to bring what he learned about franchises to what is now the family business. “It’s exciting to start my franchising journey with Hungry Howie’s,” said Mike Maloney in a recent press release.
The Thornton location is operated by franchisee Ian Ferguson, who in a recent press release said he has been “a fan of Hungry Howie’s for a long time and excited to finally own a slice of the pie.” Ferguson has been a pizza fan since a young age and would apparently buy pizza from Howie’s whenever he had money as a kid.
Hungry Howie’s Pizza was founded in 1973 and offers a menu of their specialty pizza along with oven baked subs, their coined “Howie Bread”, fresh salads, wings, and desserts. They offer flavored crust options for their pizzas with flavors that range from “butter” to “asiago cheese” to “cajun” and more.
