Richard Rawlings, star of Discovery Channel’s “Fast N’ Loud” and owner of Gas Monkey Garage, is planning a new restaurant and live music venue in Dallas. And like with everything else in Texas, it’s going to be big.
The new Gas Monkey Dallas will be a part of the Mercer Crossing Boardwalk, one of North Texas’s latest restaurant destinations that broke ground earlier this year. It is set to open in the middle of 2022.
Rawlings is partnering with Refined Hospitality Concepts on his latest dining and entertainment venture which he describes as “bigger…better…badder!” Located near Interstate 635 and Luna Road, the restaurant, bar, and music space will only be about a mile away from Gas Monkey Garage. The 40,000 square-foot venue will offer a rooftop bar, live music stage and lots of green space. The menu will be Tex-Mex and barbecue-centric.
And it’s not just Dallas that will get to experience how Rawlings does things. Plans are also in the works for a Gas Monkey Las Vegas venue to open in 2022, as well.
Rawlings’ previous restaurant venture was Gas Monkey Garage Bar N’ Grill on 10261 Technology Blvd. Following a defamation lawsuit, it closed in 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. The space has since been rebuilt and recently rebranded itself as Amplified.
