Coming from humble beginnings as a residential neighborhood snowball shop, Isis Snowballs is a full restaurant in Crowley, and it is set to add a second location in Lafayette by the end of the year at 3221 W Pinhook Rd.

Owner Isis Broussard recently told What Now New Orleans how she watched her business grow from being a stand on the side of her father’s house. Between creative snowball creations and a curated tropical vibe, Isis Snowballs started attracting customers from across Louisiana and beyond as an unofficial tourist destination.

“It became a lot to handle in our little neighborhood where we were,” she said. “So I expanded to a location on the main road in Crowley, and I’ve been there for about three years. Now, I want to branch off into Lafayette because I have a lot of people in Lafayette that come and ask me to open there.”

In addition to snowballs, the restaurant also serves burgers, quesadillas, gumbo and other treats. Broussard said the new Lafayette location will mostly resemble the original, but she plans to add seasonal crawfish boils.
