A second La Minerva Cocina and Tequila is set to open in the Lowcountry, this time at the upcoming Harris Teeter Shopping Center on Nexton Parkway near Summerville.

Co-owners Raul Salazar and Alondra Ramirez—who also own Rio Chico in Summerville, James Island, and West Ashley—recently told What Now Charleston that they just secured the lease for the space.

Last October, it was reported that the flagship La Minerva in North Charleston was slated to open in early spring 2024. However, Salazar and Ramirez have since adjusted this timeline, now aiming to complete the restaurant within the next three months.

Both La Minerva locations will offer an upscale, modern Mexican menu, with recipes perfected in collaboration with a chef from Mexico. The eatery will also place a strong emphasis on creative, handcrafted tequila cocktails.

Stay tuned for more updates as these exciting new restaurants continue to take shape.
