Bass Pro Shops, the outdoors superstore with everything you need for fishing, boating, shooting, hunting, camping, and more, is at work on a new location to open near Lake Murray.
This week, SCBiz reported on the $7.5-million sale of a 19.145-acre site at Broad River Road and Western Lane in Irmo. The future occupant? Bass Pro Shops.
“The arrival of Bass Pro Shops marks a significant economic milestone for the region,” said the SCBiz coverage, citing an announcement by NAI Columbia. “As a premier outdoor retailer, the new location is expected to draw visitors from across the state, bolstering local tourism and providing a new anchor for the Irmo and greater Columbia retail landscape.”
“Visit any Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s location, and you’ll know it’s a place unlike any other,” says the Bass Pro Shops website. “It’s so much more than a store. It’s an immersive, interactive experience tailored to your region’s unique natural landscape and habitats. We’re committed to offering the best assortment of outdoor gear anywhere. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to get out there from hunting and fishing to hiking, boating, apparel and gifts – all backed by a low-price guarantee.”
The new Bass Pro Shop location is expected to maintain high visibility, being situated near I-26. No word is out yet on an opening timeline.
