Shah’s Halal Food has leased a space in The Davis Collection, an upcoming shopping center across from the University of California, Davis. Shah’s Halal Food will occupy the 1,016-square-foot space at Ste 115 between the future homes of The Melt and 88 Bao Bao, as previously reported by What Now Sacramento.

The Davis Shah’s Hala Food is owned and operated by Tory Mashriqi, who learned to run a food truck business in New York before returning to California. Shah’s Halal Food is currently a vendor at University Mall, so it seems natural for the eatery to transition to the new Davis Collection as a brick-and-mortar eatery once the center opens in 2025. The food truck is actually considered to be many’s favorite on-campus food vendor, according to an interview published in 2020 by The California Aggie.

What Now Sacramento reached out to Mashriqi but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage. New York-based Shah’s Halal Food currently has over 50 locations. The brand is knownfor using 100% certified halal meat and fresh, local ingredients. Anchored by the existing Trader Joe’s, the Davis Collection is anticipated to complete development in mid-2025.
