We are all familiar with the drive-in food and deserts Sonic offers, and residents of Clermont won’t have to travel far to get it soon.
The location will be home in an entirely new construction, located at 3291 S Highway 27. Franchisee Keven Briggs hopes to break ground by the end of January.
A multi-unit franchisee, Briggs owns seven other Sonic locations, and this will be his eighth.
During a phone interview on Monday, Briggs spoke about the success of his other units: “We have two of them here in north central Florida that have the two highest sales in the southeast. And one of our units was number one in service, and we have been for the last five years. We are really proud of what we do and the culture we have.”
A plan review for the new construction was recently approved by the city on January 4th.
The location, which is estimated to open at the end of April, will operate with the same drive-in structure and menu known across the nation. However, Briggs hopes to bring a community-driven focus to his Clermont unit: “[We hope to] be a good first employer, be ingrained in the community and be a well-balanced provider of jobs.”
