Sushi Hayakawa announced that it will move from its home at 5979 Buford Highway to a new location in Star Metals–a pioneering, luxury live-work-play development in the West Midtown neighborhood.

Owner and Chef Atsushi Hayakawa debuted Sushi Hayakawa in 2008, modeling the restaurant after the finest sushi shops in Japan. Over the past 13 years, Sushi Hayakawa has transitioned “from a neighborhood Japanese eatery into Atlanta’s first traditional omakase sushiya,” where four guests can experience the ‘Honkaku Omakase’–a multi-course meal featuring the finest in-house offerings and specialty fish prepared by sushi master & itamae Hayakawa.

With its relocation to Star Metals at 1050 Howell Mill Road, Sushi Hayakawa will undergo a new transformation into an intimate, 8-seat sushiya. While Hayakawa and his team will continue to serve out of the Buford Highway location, they will “close intermittently” to prepare for the move, according to Sushi Hayakawa’s Instagram.
