The Dunkin’ Donuts on 4115 E Colonial Drive is preparing to undergo a serious remodeling, according to the franchise owner Danish Alidino. The restaurant will be closed for two to three weeks, Alidino confirmed. He is also the owner of the Maitland Dunkin’ Donuts, which recently reopened after completing renovations.

The nationwide coffee and donut chain has come out with a new look and method of operations for their stores. They call the new design Next Generation. The initiative has been rolled out nationwide, and Alidino is remodeling his locations to meet the Next Generation standard.

The new design is purposed with creating a more open and inviting space for Dunkin guests, as well as expediting the mobile ordering process with a dedicated mobile order drive-thru lane and pick-up counter. They will also now display the baked goods at the front counter, so that guests can have a closer look at all the offerings. The chain also aims to create a more energy efficient restaurant using LED lighting and low-flow faucets, and much more. According to Dunkin, the new stores are 33% more energy efficient than before.

Alidino estimates that the location will close for the renovations at the end of Q2.
