Stuffed Roll, coming to the area by way of owner Tiara Thomas, will appear in 100 E. 4TH Avenue in the coming months. Thomas shared with What Now Orlando on Thursday that the restaurant will put an unusual spin on the culinary tradition of egg rolls.
Thomas is theming her concept based on food trucks and street food. With a revisionist style, she is imagining egg rolls “stuffed with your non-traditional fillings. It’s not the cabbage and meat, it’s like buffalo chicken, chicken Philly, taco, peach cobbler and apple pie. Not your average stuffings going into an egg roll pastry.”
An exact opening date has not been announced, but Thomas is eying the 30th of March or 1st of April. However, these dates are not firm as she is still waiting on the city to approve a plan review and then move into the permitting and construction process. The build-out shouldn’t take long, however, because the space is rather small, Thomas reports.
In a popular area in Mount Dora, Stuffed Roll will neighbor several other eateries: Las Plumas, Cody’s on 4th and Allyson A Bake Shop.
A plan review filed with the state is still “in process.”
