A 5,585 sq. ft. Super Wawa food market and gas station that is under construction at 600 White Horse Pike in Egg Harbor City, NJ has sold for $6,967,033, according to The Press of Atlantic City. The Wawa, which was purchased by The Kamson Corp., is expected to open in the beginning of the summer, according to Mayor Lisa Jiampetti.
“We’ve been anticipating this deal for quite some time,” Jiampetti said. “We were looking for a spot for a Wawa, and one of our lawyers on the Planning Board had brought a customer to us that was interested in getting a site for a Wawa. We gave them several sites, and that’s the one they chose. It was a good thing for the city. I’m proud we have a Super Wawa here.”
Jersey Digs reports that the company’s lease with Wawa includes a 20-year term with multiple renewal options and future rent increases. The first Wawa open in Folsom, PA in 1964 with the first New Jersey store following in 1968.
