A company has plans to redevelop a 25-unit multi-building property near Mar Vista‘s border with Culver City for a new four-story, 27-unit apartment development, plans posted by the city of Los Angeles this month show.

Named Mar Vista Apartments, the proposed development is being led by Hermosa Beach-based real estate investment firm Beach City Capital and would take shape at 12757 – 12767 Mitchell Avenue, replacing three multifamily buildings with a new 43,303-square-foot development designed by El Segundo-based firm MUL-MAC Architecture & Design.

“The intent for the new development at 12757 – 12767 W Mitchell Ave. is to try and replace the aging multi-family buildings with modernized and upgraded units while maximizing on the number of units being provided,” the development team writes in application documents.

Plans also call for about 3,500 square feet of common open space, including an outdoor courtyard, a roof deck, and a recreation room.

The 45-foot-tall project would provide 52 automobile parking spaces and space for 38 bicycles, plans show.

Also involved in designs for the Mar Vista plans is Claremont-based Sha Landscape Architecture.
