A new Sugar Factory American Brasserie is planned for Miami Beach, according to recent coverage in the Miami New Times. The location will open at Firestone Garage, owned by David Grutman’s Groot Hospitality.
Announced in late October, the new location is expected to open in early 2023. It will be Sugar Factory’s twenty-seventh location overall and its second in Miami Beach (or third, if you count the now-closed Ocean Drive Sugar Factory).
The Aventura Sugar Factory’s menu features appetizers like Fried Macaroni & Cheese Pops, Sandwiches like the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and the Sugar Factory Club, and Monster Burgers like the All Natural Turkey Burger and the Signature Sugar Factory Burger, with melted cheddar cheese, pickles, shredded lettuce, tomato, crispy onions, and Sugar Factory sauce. Pastas, Tacos, and Entrees like Seafood Rice, Chicken and Waffles, and Roasted Twin Maine Lobster Tails complete the picture.
And all of this leads into what is arguably the main event: desserts. These include a mad collection of Old Fashioned Milkshakes, Insane Milkshakes like the Caramel Sugar Daddy Cheesecake (Vanilla ice cream blended with cheesecake pieces and caramel sauce topped with whipped cream, a slice of NY style cheesecake, Sugar Daddy candy, a rainbow lollipop, and served in a chocolate covered mug with crushed graham crackers), Old Fashioned Sundaes, and much more.
The Aventura location also offers brunch and lunch menus.
Sugar Factory is set to open in the building’s main restaurant space, which had formerly been occupied by Winker’s Diner. According to the Miami New Times, owner Charissa Davidovici is opening the location in partnership with David Grutman.
What Now reached out to Grutman on Monday to ask about the news. Grutman declined to comment.
Situated on the corner of Alton Road and 16th Street, the Miami Beach location is one of a number of food and drink locations nearby. These include Bodega Taqueria y Tequila South Beach, Sufrat Mediterranean Grill, SuViche Sushi and Ceviche, and Yardbird Table & Bar.
