Rowan, a nurse-led ear piercing studio, is preparing to open at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. The studio will be in Suite F-103 at 3101 PGA Blvd., and its website lists it as coming soon. No opening date has been announced.
The studio will offer lobe and cartilage piercings done by licensed nurses, for customers from infants to adults. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are encouraged and can be booked online.
Rowan uses two methods. The first is a hand-pressurized device, which the company says is not a piercing gun, for anyone 2 months and older with a valid DTaP vaccination. The second is a single-use, sterilized hollow-bore needle, available for ages 5 and up, and suited to placements such as the conch, helix and tragus. Prices on the company’s site start at $35 for a single device piercing, $50 for a double and $35 per ear for needle piercings, with nose piercings at $45. Jewelry is extra, starting at $60 for device jewelry and $68 for needle jewelry, and comes in hypoallergenic metals such as titanium, 14k solid gold and sterling silver. Nurses also recommend aftercare solutions and offer a complimentary aftercare evaluation.
Rowan was founded by Louisa Schneider, a former finance executive, who started the company in 2018 as an at-home piercing service in Westchester, New York. Its first studio opened on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 2019. The company has grown quickly, from 14 stores in 2022 to more than 100 locations by the end of 2025, according to industry reports, and it has said it expects to add about 30 more in 2026. It focuses on malls and lifestyle centers, and has said it hopes to eventually have about 1,000 locations in the U.S.
